3. How do I secure an invitation letter for my visa application?

We have learned that individuals from the following countries do not need visas for Mexico:

  • Americas: USA, Canada, Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay.
  • Europe: All EU citizens, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, United Kingdom.
  • Asia/Oceania: Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore.

Additionally, regardless of nationality, individuals holding a valid, unexpired visa or permanent residency from the USA, Canada, Japan, UK, or any Schengen country do not need a separate Mexican visa.

Tuxtla Gutierrez and San Cristobal are considered top rated tourism destinations. As such, if you need a visa, please apply for a TOURIST VISA.  Religious visas face different types of hurdles that make this a less viable option.

11. What can you tell me about the choice of Chiapas, Mexico for IWWC?

Mexico is the largest Spanish speaking country in the world, with a population of over 135 million living in 32 states and 2,438 municipalities. About 14% (18 million people) are evangelical protestants. Mexico is 81% urban.

Chiapas is the southernmost state bordering Guatemala. Tuxtla Gutierrez is its capital. Chiapas has a population of 5 million people. There are 12 distinct people groups (Tseltal, Tsotsil,Cho’ol, Tojolabal, Zaque, Chuj, Kanjobal, Mam, Jacalteco, Mochó, Cakchiquel & Lacandona) living in approximately 124 municipalities. Chiapas has a 70% poverty rate which is the highest in Mexico.

The Church of Chiapas:  The gospel arrived in the early 1950’s, initially amongst the Tsotsil peoples in the village of Oxchuc. The church in Chiapas grew even as it faced great persecution. Miguel Cashlan was the first leader martyred in July 1981. In one municipality of 90,000 people, San Juan Chamula, about 45,000 (50%) of the believers faced expulsion from their communities. Through the years they established model communities with names like New Hope, Bethany, and New Jerusalem. The persecuted church has become the victorious church, and is now poised at their kairos moment to administer God’s Favor; to establish Shalom in their impoverished communities.

CHE Ministry is new in Chiapas: Of the 124 municipalities in this state, church and government leaders have identified the 12 most forgotten. There are 1,000 villages in these municipalities.  Beginning with these 12, we will discover together how many of these will become model CHE villages. These will join our global communities and serve as an inspiration to the rest of Mexico, Latin America, and the world.
