Shannon Wiederholt, RDN–As a community nutritionist in rural Appalachia, Shannon realized that a strengths-based approach rather than a needs-based approach combined with participatory learning was critical to see healthy behavior changes in communities. After being called to serve in Southeast Asia, Shannon and her husband Eric discovered CHE and began using the core values and principles throughout their ministry. Here in the USA they consult with short-term teams wanting to implement CHE, facilitate TOT1s. Working with Myanmar refugees attending Bible school in the USA, Myanmar and Malaysia, they are helping to implement CHE into the schools’ outward focused curriculum and training. They both serve on the GCN curriculum team as well.
Jenna Schmid PT, DPT–While in college, Jenna responded to God’s calling to become a physical therapist to serve overseas in medical missions. Though all of her experience of missions abroad have been short term, she knew her ultimate goal was to be a full time missionary. By God’s sovereignty, Jenna started working with Global CHE Network as Member Services and Disability Advocate this year! She and her husband, Guido, have been embracing CHE as a way to not only reach out to the disability community, but to advocate for their inclusion and participation as productive members and leaders of the church and community. They are excited to be used for the advancement of His kingdom and the glory of His name!the world.
